Maps of 1930s trips
Burragorang Valley was flooded in 1950s after the building of a dam across the Wollondilly River, to create a reservoir to supply Sydney with water. See 24 March 1930 letter.

In April 1930 the group of young people set off in a couple of cars for one night away from Sydney, and stayed the night in Mudgee, returning home the next day via Bathurst, about a 10 hr drive along rough roads, 400 miles with 3 punctures!
